Piano Recital by Tamás ÉRDI Russian Night

2019. August 25.

Tamás Érdi, the founder of the Cool on their Beach Festival, plays a prominent role among the performers of the series. This time it is through a Russian program, works by Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Skriabin that he shows the great emotional depth and power of expression that reviewers regularly emphasize. In the words of his chief mentor, legendary pianist and conductor, the late Zoltán Kocsis, “I don’ think we could ever reach the degree of sensitivity apparent in his performance  …this ability could be measured by standards set by Chopin.”  Érdi made his debut in some of the most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Barbican Center and Müpa in Budapest. He is also keen on giving charity concerts to share the beauty and power of classical music with those left out of the experience.

Mussorgsky: Pictures of an Exhibition

Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliette, op.75 (excerpts)

Tchaikovsky: Dumka, op.59

Skriabin: Etude in C-flat Major, op.2/1
